Abstract
The intensity dependent phase mismatch in frequency doubling optical fibers has been investigated using mono-intense writing and read-out pulses. The use of single intensity pulses provides a fundamental test of the effects of self and cross-phase modulation on quasiphase matching in frequency doubling fibers and may also provide a unique way to measure the intensity dependent indices of refraction. In addition, the effects of re-exposing prepared fibers to the fundamental are investigated experimentally.
