Abstract
A point-matched time domain finite element method (TDFE) applied to the analysis of electrical transients in transmission line networks is presented. In this method, the telegraph equation is solved numerically at discrete time steps. Absorbing boundary conditions are used to simulate an infinite line. Examples of voltage waveforms on lossless single-phase line with simple line termination and interfaces are shown.
